Now, if this issue exists because the files are in their original state, that's not my problem. Meaning that it has no SPs applied to it. To add more fuel to the fire, the original Microsoft issued CD is also infected? I'm not buying it, Avast is for once wrong on this.Īlso, as I said above (because people can't read). These files have been clean for years and all of a sudden it's infected? Ya, right. They insist that the file is really infected, when it's not. How the f can that be infected after this many years with no issues? Avast Support is also being a d about this and won't fix their signatures. This file example came off the original Office 2000 CD.
I don't think you people are listening here!!!! If you consider deleting OSA9.exe and are worried, save it to another location, write down its source location, then you could put it back later, if you felt you had to. Be sure to follow all of the mandatory steps prior to submitting a request. The good folks over there can dissect the data and give you a reliable and trustworthy answer as to whether your system is indeed clean. I know it's definitely not patched to the latest SP. Maybe it's the specific version I've got running. Seems strange that some of you use Office 2000 and haven't run into this.
I think the issue is that something in the file looks close to these viruses, but it's really not. Seems to me that it's nothing more then FP city. Yep, here's an example of an exe that Avast barks at.
